Ken Stephens describes how, as a second-generation farm forester, he has carried on where his father Vic left off. The Stephens are now harvesting continuously so receiving a steady income stream. the trees have enable Ken and his wife to move off the farm and hand it over to his sons. Home-grown timber has been used for fences and buildings on the farm. Steeper and poorer faces are planted as woodlots, and there is a steady programme of shelter planting. Species include radiata pine, Douglas fir, cypresses and eucalypts.
